Why we focus on one state

Texas Med Spa Directors is a We Treat company. We Treat has supported more than 500 med spa launches across all 50 states, and the same question kept surfacing in Texas ahead of every other one: who can legally own and oversee the clinical side of this practice.

Texas answers that differently than most states. Physician ownership requirements, delegation rules, and split agency oversight mean advice built elsewhere does not transfer cleanly. So we built something that only addresses Texas.

What we are not

We are not a law firm and we do not give legal advice. Entity formation, management services agreements, and corporate practice of medicine analysis are legal work, and the fee structure and control boundaries in those documents are exactly where these arrangements fail. We work alongside your Texas healthcare attorney, not in place of one. What we bring is the physician network and the operational knowledge of how aesthetic practices actually get built here.

Texas requirement

In Texas, only a physician licensed by the Texas Medical Board, an MD or DO, may serve as a medical director. A nurse practitioner or physician assistant cannot hold the role, though either may perform delegated services under physician supervision.

The medical director’s name and Texas Medical Board license number must be posted in all treatment areas.

Who is We Treat?

We Treat is a growth platform for independent med spas, covering medical director oversight, compliance, good faith exams, and marketing. More than 500 med spas have launched with We Treat across all 50 states. Texas Med Spa Directors is the Texas-specific arm of that work.

Do you own or operate med spas yourselves?

No. You own your practice. We handle the physician relationship and the operational infrastructure around it.

Do you work outside Texas?

This practice is built specifically around Texas rules. We Treat works nationally, so reach out either way and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right fit.

Can you help if we are already open?

Often, and it is the more common call. Practices established before the 2025 rule changes frequently have delegation or oversight arrangements worth revisiting. We can look at where you stand.
