What a medical director carries

A medical director signs and maintains your delegation agreements, approves treatment protocols, and holds real responsibility for care delivered under their supervision. That last part is why the match matters more than the paperwork. A physician with no aesthetics background is accepting exposure they cannot properly assess, and the ones who sign without understanding it are the ones who create problems later.

Texas requirement

In Texas, only a physician licensed by the Texas Medical Board, an MD or DO, may serve as a medical director. A nurse practitioner or physician assistant cannot hold the role, though either may perform delegated services under physician supervision.

The medical director’s name and Texas Medical Board license number must be posted in all treatment areas.

What does it cost?
What an engagement involves depends on your service mix and whether you are opening new or replacing an existing director. You get a firm number on the consultation call, and the call is free.
Do I need a healthcare attorney as well?
Yes. Entity formation and the management services agreement are legal work. We work alongside your attorney and can point you toward Texas healthcare counsel if you do not have one.
Can we keep our current medical director?
Often yes, if the arrangement is documented properly and their experience covers what you offer. We would rather strengthen a working relationship than replace it, and we will tell you plainly when it does not hold up.
